Privacy policy

What Avanza collects, why, and what happens to it. Written for a driver with a ticket, not for a courtroom.

What we collect

When you ask for a price or join the waitlist, we collect the details you give us in that form: your name, your email address, and the court on your citation.

When you enroll, we collect what Arizona requires of a defensive driving school: your citation, a government issued ID, and your payment. Card details go to Stripe directly; we never see or store a full card number.

While you take the course, our servers record your progress: which segments you watched, how long you were in each, and how you answered the review quizzes. Arizona requires this record, and it is why the course is delivered the way it is.

Why we collect it

Your court and citation decide your exact price and your eligibility, so they have to be right before you pay. Your ID exists because Arizona requires us to verify who completes the course. The progress record exists because the state expects a full electronic record of every completion, and we would rather keep too much than too little.

We also use your email to send you what you asked for: sign in codes, your course link, and support replies. That is all we use it for.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone whose business is you rather than the course. We do not use it to market third parties to you.

The only people who see your documents are the Avanza staff who review them, and only because Arizona requires a person to clear them.

Where it lives

Your course record lives in our database, which is backed up nightly to a second location. Your citation and ID are stored in a private bucket that only staff can reach through a signed in session, and the video lessons are stored separately with no public address at all.

Payments never touch our servers: the checkout runs inside Stripe, and we only receive the outcome.

How long we keep it

Sign in codes expire after ten minutes. Leads and waitlist signups stay until we no longer need them to tell you about the course. Your completion record stays for as long as Arizona may need to audit it, which is the record we are required to produce.

If you want your personal details removed, email [email protected]. We will remove what the law lets us remove, and explain the rest.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and note the date above. We will not quietly change what we promised.
